Where does the model name KNIPEX Modular X18 come from?
The backpack can hold up to 18L and it can be adjusted to the user's needs and equipment. The backpack has two separate compartments and a MOLLE system on the outside and inside. The tool panel can be completely removed or adjusted in position, creating space for bulky tools.
Does the KNIPEX Modular X18 come prefilled with tools?
The KNIPEX Modular X18 (00 21 50 LE) is only available empty in North America. There are however two versions available in Europe that come pre-filled with tools.
What is the maximum load capacity of the KNIPEX Modular X18?
The KNIPEX Modular X18 has a maximum load capacity of 33.1 lbs.
What is the weight of the empty KNIPEX Modular X18?
The empty KNIPEX Modular X18 is 6.4 lbs.
How many retaining loops and pockets does the KNIPEX Modular X18 have?
The KNIPEX Modular X18 has a total of 21 retaining loops and 37 pockets, some with zippers.
The front compartment contains a total of:
- 24 tool pockets with 21 rubber retaining straps to secure tools
- Two pockets; one with a zipper and one without
The rear compartment contains the following pockets:
- One laptop compartment
- One compartment for documents
- Three extra large tool pockets made of neoprene fabric
- One padded pocket, e.g. for safety glasses and chargers
- One mesh pocket with zipper
The following pockets are located on the outside of the backpack:
- A water bottle compartment
- Three smaller pockets for pens, etc.
What are all the loops on the front of the KNIPEX Modular X18 for?
This is the MOLLE system. It is a "standardized system" that is often used in the outdoor industry. The MOLLE system specifies the distance between the loops, which is always 1 1/2" (40 mm) wide. The acronym "MOLLE" stands for "Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment". There are numerous accessory options available to customize the backpack to your liking (not sold by KNIPEX). The seams of the MOLLE system are light reflective for additional safety.
Is the KNIPEX Modular X18 Tool Backpack easy to clean?
Yes, the backpack is easy to clean. The recycled polyester can easily be brushed off.
What size is the laptop / document compartment of the KNIPEX Modular X18?
The padded laptop compartment is designed for a laptop up to 15". A4 documents fit in the document compartment.
Can the KNIPEX Modular X18 be secured with a lock?
Yes, the backpack has lockable zippers on the front and back.
What is the bottom of the KNIPEX Modular X18 made of?
The waterproof molded bottom is made of impact-resistant polypropylene plastic. The bottom shell is 2.4" high. The Modular X18 is stable both when open and closed - and regardless of whether it is empty or fully loaded.

For which applications are the KNIPEX Needle-Nose Combination Pliers used?
The KNIPEX Needle-Nose Combination Pliers are used for all common installation and repair work. They are ideal for working in hard-to-reach work areas due to their slim head design with pointed anti-twist jaws.
What is the function of the milled groove in the gripping area of the KNIPEX Needle-Nose Combination Pliers?
The milled groove in the gripping area allows smaller workpieces such as nails, pins and bolts to be held and pulled safely and without damage.
What kind of wire can the KNIPEX Needle-Nose Combination Pliers cut?
Special hardened edges (approx. 61 HRC) cut soft, medium-hard and hard wire.
Why is the gripping surface of the KNIPEX Needle-Nose Combination Pliers convex on one side?
One side of the new needle-nose combination pliers is convex to create three points of contact when gripping flat workpieces.
Why is the pipe gripping area asymmetrical?
The asymmetry of the pipe gripping area allows round parts as well as hexagonal profiles to be gripped, held and turned firmly without slipping.
